Choose an agent skill for the actual job
Choose reusable agent skills by the work you need done, the context available and the result you can check.
Find your starting point in Prompeteer
Prompeteer combines contextual skill creation with a library of 5,000+ professional agent workflows and skills for individuals and teams. The total covers the combined catalog. Skills Hub is the place to inspect reusable skills; the workflows library helps you explore methods for professional tasks.
Start with the output you need: a source comparison, code review, release-note check or proposal review. Read the actual steps before adopting a skill. If the workflow fits but needs your own documents or review rules, create a contextual skill that names those requirements.

Start with fit, then inspect trust and maintenance
Search for the specific workflow you need, not only a popular tool name. Read the actual instructions and upstream source. Check which version was reviewed, whether it has changed and what the runtime must provide.
- Task fit: a recognizable input and useful output.
- Provenance: the upstream repository, version and license.
- Review state: passed, held or incomplete, with its meaning.
- Runtime needs: tools, packages, permissions and network access.
Compare two document-review skills
A longer skill is not necessarily a better fit. Check the scope you need to delegate.
For each candidate skill, record whether it only reviews a supplied document or also modifies files. Note the required tools, external network destinations, license and reviewed version. Prefer the smallest scope that completes this task. Test it first with non-sensitive sample material, and inspect both its proposed changes and unexpected actions.
Make the skill fit individual or team work
An individual can start with one recurring task and keep a short record of what the skill needs and which outputs required correction. A team should also agree who owns the instructions, what source versions are current and who approves consequential actions.
Before reusing a skill, compare a result from complete inputs with one from missing or conflicting inputs. Check whether it asks for the missing material, preserves the requested scope and produces an output you can inspect. Keep the version that improves the actual task, and revisit it when your tools or sources change.
Popularity cannot replace inspection
Downloads, stars or inclusion in a library do not establish that a skill is suitable for your environment. A previous review may not cover a changed package or a new dependency.
Common questions
Should I use a library skill or generate my own?
Use a reviewed library skill when its scope and behavior fit. Generate or adapt a skill when the task has specific requirements, then inspect and test that result too.
